Our seasonal opener: prep races at a big hunt

We have four of ours on the van for this day, including (reaching for the airplane bags) our 3yo. homebred making his first ever start in company!
Lei Diavalo, Centerofattraction, Danesfort and My Son Spider, all on the entry list. Looks like the weather will be okay (50s, sunny), and we're expecting a touch more rain to put some "ease" in the ground. Otherwise, Spider and Lei Diavalo will wait.
If anyone's in the area, let me know and I'll look for you. I plan to unveil a fabulous chapeau for the first ever Hat contest.

Well congrats on making it a decade, and happy birthday in advance to your boy....as well as all the foals yet to arrive!
Our mare's due Monday, but, haha, we're not in any hurry. She takes over a year usually.
I just found out Spider won't make the trip. He's still a teeny bit green, so he'll get a van trip to Delaware next week for the gate card, breeze, etc.
That place is a zoo in the mornings, so hopefully, he'll get all of his "looking" out of the way.

Thanks... and BEST OF LUCK to your three: jump well, keep something in the tank and come home safe.

Our horses don't compete in the jump races at these meets. They run on the flat (not very flat, mind you!)
All competed well over choppy going, and all came back fine. No wins, but no mishaps. Everyone is very fit, especially our old man, Danesfort, who went two miles easily!
Next up: a dirt sprint for Lei Diavalo at Aqueduct at the end of the month, hopefully, and Atlantic City on the turf for Centerofattraction. I'll keep you posted. Our season has begun!

Denise, good luck with the season. Now that I am in the Pacific Northwest there's no steeplechasing, nor even turf racing... and no-one wears big hats unless you count Stetsons!

What is the Atlantic City meet like? It's only for a couple of days, if I recall correctly, and I regret not going when I was near at hand.

AC's meet is just 4 days: two Wed-Thu., April 26-27 and the following week.
All turf, all flat. They couldn't come to terms with the steeplechase folks this time.
Our With Approval mare hopefully will be in the A-other than the first day, if she gets in.
