What A Pleasure

Postby Bondama » Fri Apr 28, 2006 6:47 am

I would love if someone could direct me to a source of info and photographs of What A Pleasure. I own a "Pleasure" mare, named Diplomatic Pleasure and have heard she is much like him. Would love to get info and pictures of him. Here is a picture of my sweet mare.

Not a great face shot, but you can see that she's built like a brick house!

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

Blessings,

LaTroienne, thank you. That picture of him is gorgeous - just wish it was in color! Still, everything but the tail and the socks looks like my mare, especially the head and neck. What a fabulous-looking guy! Thanks very much for your time and help. 'preciate it!!

He started in 18 races, winning six, 5 seconds, and 2 thirds for earnings of $164,935 and achieving a SSI of 20.56. What A Pleasure was the Leading Sire in 1975 and 1976 based mostly on the results of Foolish Pleasure winning the Kentucky Derby, etc. His AEI/CI was a positive 2.40/2.26. The AWD of his foals was 6.68 furlongs [very speed-oriented] with 81% runners, 57% winners, 24% runners, and 10% SW's. As a broodmare sire his BAEI/BCI 1.20/1.55 was negative with an AWD of 6.94 furlongs, 74% runners, 53% winners, 14% 2yo winners [lost the early maturing his foals were when he functioned as a sire] and a little over 4% SW's. By and large What A Pleasure mares went very well with Damascus and In Reality blood. His mares also went fairly well with sons of Mr. Prospector and his sire Raise A Native and Northern Dancer blood. According to my Predictive Sire program he scores, 20.77 Genetic points and 5.40 Racing Ability points, which gives him a GRA score of 26.16. He has earned 31.96 Stud Performance points, which gives him a GRASP score of 58.12. His GSV score is an exceptionally high 81.8"

What a Pleasure

We bred a wonderful gelding who was the spitting image of his great grandsire What a Pleasure, by *Adbass x Murr Phil (Murrtheblurr). He's now working as a nice lady's show jumper down in CA, but we still have his picture anchoring our website Splash page!

Named him Somfas Pleasure, and he grew to 17 hands and 1350 pounds... what a powerhouse.
