My grandparents owned a racehorse named Lamoka Mist. She was born in 1977. Her sire was Fast and Foxy and her Dam was Victory Dancer. Misty raced at Finger Lakes Race Track. I know that she was sold in a Claiming race but I cant remember what year. I remember when she was born and her as a foal. I had fond memories of going to the races with my grandparents and watching her run. I would love to know whatever happened to her and if she ever had any offspring.
Thanks
Lamoka Mist

Lamoka Mist has been added to the database.
While I can't help with her whereabouts, I can tell you that she raced 32 times, but only hit the board once, with a third-place finish.
She only had one registered TB foal, a filly named Indulge's Pride in 1986, who did not race. If she had any other offspring, they either went unregistered, or were sired by a non-TB.
Hope that helps some.
By the way, she also had three half-siblings - fillies Lamoka Belle & Lamoka Betsy, and a colt simply named Lamoka. I don't know if any of these horses were connected to your grandparents, but I entered them into the database anyway.

Actually Lamoka Mist never did finish as high as 3rd.
It was only later that she was given 3rd purse money in a $2000 maiden claimer that went in 1:16 4/5 on a fast track.
It is really pretty great when even this kind of a horse inspires very strong and vivid memories in a grandchild.
As near as I can tell, the horse changed hands on or about May 13, 1981 from trainer Charles Morreale to trainer James Wright.
First start was October 19, 1979 and every race was at Finger Lakes.
Listed breeder was an O. J. Bianco.

Thank you so much
OJ Bianco was my grandfather.
I remember Belle and I remember seeing her race a few times but I really remember Misty. We used to go as children to the stables and see Victory Dancer with her foals. The one foal.... I believe it was the colt, never made it to maturity as he fell and broke his neck.
Misty was never a great race horse but the images I have of going the races will always be with me. I remember crying when I found out she had been sold. If I remember correctly it was a claiming race but I was still pretty young.
I have pictures from the finger lakes racetrack of my grandparents in the winners circle with their different horses. I believe a couple are of Victory Dancer.
