Bred in KY on February 15th, 1998 by a Mrs. FL Ronchetti, moved up and currently resides in MA.

I've had this guy for almost four years now, and I'm looking to find out any information on his past. If anyone has any information/pictures for him or his breeder, I'd love to know!

Thanks a lot :)

All I can offer is his race record....he had one third-place finish in fourteen starts, and earned $1,010. :)

If that's him in your avatar, then he seems to have found a truer calling. :) Cute boy!

Thank you! The people who I got him from claimed that he's never raced, so this is news to me. His race record on his registration papers is blank. Do you know how I can find out more information on this?

I can confirm the 14 starts and one third.

He raced for about 1 1/2 years all in the Boston area, beginning January 14, 2001 and last on June 10, 2002.

He was 3rd in a race on April 23, 2002 at Suffolk Downs.

'Jake only beat 23 horses in 14 starts and he was really slow on the track.

I could be mistaken, but I believe only wins are recorded on a horse's registration papers.....that would explain why it's blank. Perhaps his previous owners also thought that meant he was unraced.

I must admit that I've known a couple sellers that would tell 'little white lies' about a horse's racing career. They felt show horse people were biased against horses that had been on the track, and that passing one off as unraced was the only way to ensure it a good home. Go figure. But that was a long time ago, and given how easy it is to find a horse's record online, I doubt anyone can get away with it now!

Thanks so much for helping me out on this! This is exciting to find out so many years later that he did run. Now is anyone aware of how I can go about contacting his former owners? I have all their names and I've written to one with no response back, but I don't have the address of the woman that owned him during his racing career. And of course, I have his breeders name and I'd LOVE to contact her, but again, I have no contact information.

I'm every former-racehorse owner's nightmare :)
