I'm hoping to find contact information for John R. Shaw who has been a breeder and trainer in Kentucky and Ocala, FL.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I'm uncertain whether you're going to find him alive.

Mares he used to own have in more recent times listed Calder trainer "John E. Shaw" as the breeder.

At any rate, you can write to John E. Shaw in care of Calder Race Course in Florida for further information.

Hope this gets you on the right path.

Jimble's info probably pinpoints the guy you are looking for; Shaw trains at Calder and has a barn at Starting Point Training Center in Morriston Florida, just around the corner from me. What exactly do you need? You can pm if you like.

Ah... thanks for the information.

I have a 2001 gelding I just acquired and John Shaw (the R.) is listed as the breeder and I had hoped for some foal photographs or info on the dam, who is One Cent Over. The sire of my boy is Numerous and my horse has the very simple name of "Number".

Wow, you're not kidding about having just acquired him!

He raced at Finger Lakes last weekend!!

(for) the record, he has just two wins from 67 races

One was this year on July 15 (2008) at Finger Lakes, NY

The other was April 10 of 2004 at Gulfstream, Florida

In between he lost fifty races in a row.

Maybe the 2004 picture would be a step in the right direction for someone seeking photos from when he was younger.

Hope this helps.

I've been following Number for a little over a year when I met him at Finger Lakes. Super sweet horse. He tried and tried. He always was a late starter and came from behind but not soon enough to win.

He's sound and sane and I love him very much.

Thanks for the hint on the 2004 win photo. That's a good idea.

Here he is during his first turn out in a very looong time.
