Looking for info on a now 4 year old Irish-Bred. He's by Namid. Born in Ireland (M. Phelan breeder), sold at 7 mos. to a European buyer (Czech?) I think. Ran 4 times that I know of. First races in Czech. I believe his last race was in Dubai in March 2005. He ended up in the US after that. Thanks in advance if anyone can fill in the details.

..."Even more impressive than Darsalam was one two-year-old colt. As Namid is one of the leading freshman sires in GB, maybe somebody will be interested in this colt: his name is Von Dutch, he's by Namid out of Vasilopoula (Kenmare) and I have the only word to describe him: perfect. Beautiful animal - despite the fact he's chestnut horse with four white legs and white markings on a head, so he looks beautifully - he's one of the best 2yos I've ever seen. Perfect body, absolutely perfect. He's very big, I'd bet he isn't much lower than Darsalam. He resembles Artaxes at Work very much, but there's one difference - Von Dutch has much better constitution ;o) After he won his debut he ran second in this race, but he's too young and too big 2yos usually lose on this racecourse. He impressed many people and I hope he'll run as fantastic as he looks like.

but note that in fact he looks much better, although he's imposant here :o))"

Of Ing.Vaclav the Chaloupka/Tochovice Tschech.Rep., trained 3-J.Fuchsgengst Von Dutch (Namid) is started on Saturday in Dubai in the Areej aluminium Bastakia running (1,800 m, 150,000 USD) with Jockey Pat Smullen. By Dutch only last, had by the Jockey to be continued. One determined then a lung bleeding (3/5 of the lung were full). Still the last Arbeit-1000 m in 0,58 min. on not prepared course completed the horse without problems. The owner James Gilliar wants to start the horse now in the USA, because one can use Lasix there.

Fabulous! Thanks for the information. Was wondering why he shipped to the US. It makes sense now.
