I have a 21 yr old mare that as of today is 351 days gestation. This past Monday, she started dripping and it has gotten worse since then. Not to the point that it is streaming out yet, but a fairly consistant drip. I called the vet yesterday and they advised to milk her out, strain and put in a baggie in the freezer. I did that yesterday and today. My question is this...do you think it will keep just in the refridgerator or does it need to be frozen? I am afraid she will have this foal soon and it will take to long to thaw out. I plan to have the IGG(?) test done as soon as it arrives just to be on the safe side. I have never had a mare drip for so many days. She is driving me crazy. All the signs are there, she just won't lay down and have it.
Thanks in advance.

not in fridge
not in fridge needs to be put in freezer ...just put small amounts in baggies then when time to thaw just stick baggies in warm not hot water it will thaw quicker than you think....good luck ( this advice is what an old horse farmer told me....things may have changed since his day but somehow I trust the old and wise)

Definitely freeze it and thaw in luke warm water as Tammy says. It should only take 10 mins to thaw. Put only about 4-6 oz in each baggie.
