Update on our first TB filly
Well here she is 3 months old two stories to tell of the many we have encountered so far---you will see a bandaid on her leg that is from two weeks ago when she decided it was time to see if she could get on the otherside of the fence---vet says she will be ok. The next story --Saturday we cleaned our barn the stalls fresh bedding, everything washed down feed prepared for the next week etc. We brought the horses in that evening about 8 thnking they would rest well, fresh air fresh bedding and a day in the sun. The next morning about 5 am my husband went to the barn for feeding--the barn was a mess halters pulled off the hooks feed everywhere, and all the horses were worked up into a sweat. Since our mom of our baby was upset my husband was in fear she would step on the foal . He went to the stall to check on her and no baby!!!He thought oh my god someone has stollen her. Then he noticed the door was open chain still up, and all the hoof prints everywhere. She even made it to see her daddy which was calmest of them all---my husband looked and looked for her and finally found her on the back side of the property in the vacant barn exploring. When he called she came to him acting all proud and perky like she had conquered the world. Oh my gosh this foal is absolutely a character. If all TB babies are like this I am sorry to waste your time reading this --but that foal managed in the middle of the night to work that sliding door (that had not been latched securley) so she could escape - she has made me see how intelligient these horses are. I truly love them if you couldn't tell....hope I gave everyone a good chuckle sorry the picture taking is not real well
