Mixed bag on success with my mares.........

Postby camohn » Mon Jun 12, 2006 6:17 pm

So far all of Boomer's outside mares took on the first cover except possibly one. One ovulated really early (like on a 30 follicle)/got a post ov cover so not too optimistic about her.....find out Thursday.
MY mares
Mare number one/16 to 18 day check on 2 covers. Vet found no baby but OTOH she is not forming any follicles either and is not coming back into heat (this un is a hussy..... :P ) so maybe she knows something the vet does not.....recheck in a couple weeks. :?:
Mare number two/16 day check: definitely not preggo/froming a follicle and I pretty much knew that. She started acting in heat yesterday/today. Today she peed on the hotwire. Ya wanna see a mare run real fast   :P  :!:
Mare number three..momma of the beloved and missed Fred from last year. Checked not in foal last check so I turned her out with Boomer. She is 20 years old. I really want another foal from her..........but perhaps is not to be. If she does not get in foal she will just be his turnout buddy. I have seen no signs that she was bred or even acting in heat but had her checked anyway. Woo hoo! She IS 2 weeks in foal :D

Funny! I can just see your hussy lighting up with that hotwire! :!: And it sounds like Boomer is more than just a friend to Fred's mom.
