Is the mare gray or was it the sire?

I didn't mean to crash your baby's thread, Emma. But the avatar photo is a son of gray stallion With Approval. There are no grays in the dam's side. Motion Approved began as a chestnut like your boy, and gradually grayed out over the next two years.
