Postby tammysinnett » Thu Mar 22, 2007 2:36 pm

ok so it worked for others to post so its my turn her due date is in two days, yesterday she acted like she was in heat the whole day wouldn't leave the gate that she can see our stallion at...doing the girl thing kinda funny strutin her stuff with that big ole belly....her bag is tight....no waxing.....she is winking....never happened like this in our other mare...yes she is with foal....and it seems to be low at this time....we have bedded her down but she goes crazy if she doesn't get some turnout....so how long do you think I have to wait.....and I took the day off tomorrow thinking yesterday she may be in light labor LOL. its raining here so I slop out to the barn every couple of hours and my husband cant watch tv for the monitor. I am so excited I cant stand this. so sorry you have to hear me babble.

Hey Tammy - guess what? She'll go when SHE'S ready - not when you take a day off work (HA) - Good luck! And let us know ...

i slept 9 nights in my pickup truck last Feb. so i could watch the monitor and still stay warm. i went through $60.00 in gas to stay warm, and there was one corner that i couldnt see from the monitor and thats where she had it! i heard some kicking and thrashing. then a lil wet filly went running across the stall. goodluck!! might want to get more pizza and chips though!!

God bless you all. I could never wait around. We have way too many and we pay people to do that. :)

Each and everyone of you have my full admiration... :D

Nythoroughbred, that is just too funny.

Tammy, I think you should get a bulk order of warm-it-up-yourself pizza, and monster bags of chips. Then you can hold vigil every night until she finally decides it's time.

We pay people too  We thought about "doing it" ourselves this year but I chickened out - new grandbaby on the way and all that worrying and all - have enough worrying with a mom with a stroke, a dad with a bad heart (so am always on call for them) and then of course - making myself available for the call for the 'BIG' delivery - so I didn't have the guts. We are going to try it next year (maybe) since I got such positive remarks here when I was thinking about. However, now hearing some of these stories it might be money well spent letting someone else sleep in their car/truck!
