Name approved for new colt- PHOTO UPDATE 4-20-07

I hope to have some photos of the new little man named Busy Season soon. He's the April 11 son of Vicar out of Hop to It. He's doing fine now and out of the woods medically.

Here's my logic for the name:

Vicar is by Wild Again out of Escrow Agent.
Hop to It is by Bien Bien out of Sweet Bunny.

Well, well, it's wild again for church leaders, escrow agents, and chocolate bunnies. It's a BUSY SEASON.

You're right, hpking. I always like to use a little "wordplay" in naming when possible.

Finally received some photos from the farm last night. It's been wild there for the farm manager with weather, foaling, breeding, vet checks, etc. Baby's got a slightly sore leg again, and they are watching and waiting again. Thankfully the professionals can do the up-close-and-personal worrying and I can keep my focus at a distance. The pictures don't show mom's face, but it's almost identical to that of her son. Mom has a right front white wall tire, and it looks like baby has all three except the right front. See Hop to It in database.

wow really nice!!! hey have you ever worked at San Antonio Race track??? That is where I really learned to love the horses.....I was based there in the ARmy.....someday would like to buy a mare from there when I get more pasture (LOL) just for sentimental reasons I dorve through OK many times coming home to ILlinois

No, Tammy, it's been about ten years since any of my horses stabled at Retama briefly. I've had them at Sam Houston as shippers, and stabled at Lone Star several times. Hop to It won an allowance NW2X back in 2001 at a mile on the dirt at LS, then shipped to the Midlantic area to try for some MD-bred purses. She won her ALW NW3X at Pimlico on the grass in the race that followed Lone Star. Then she struggled that fall at several tracks, and got terribly sick at Belmont with some form of colitis. She spent over a week at New Bolton, where Barbaro was taken. When she returned to the races, she wasn't the same racehorse and couldn't handle cheaper claiming company at Oaklawn, where she was claimed from me at the track to begin her broodmare career. I found her for sale the following year and bought her back. This is her fifth son (one died as an early premie). I hope to sell her Petionville colt named Island Flair in the Keeneland September sale. He's in the database. Her two boys of racing age are winners at two, and the three-year-old is racing this year.

S - sorry to hear his leg is sore again - hopefully they get him painfree soon - poor baby. He looks great though and has a sweet face!
