Waiting..........again

Postby Stormchaser » Thu Apr 19, 2007 7:31 pm

I am on foal watch again tonightm this time for my CSH mare. I really wish these mares could just tell us what they are going to do! This mare last time gave us the perfect signs and we knew right when it was going to happen. Wax, agiatated, gave birth - all within 3 hours. This time she seems relaxed and she has little drops of moisture but no wax. Then again maybe I'm staying up for no reason at all. The last 3 mares were all 1 week late, this is only 4 days, who knows what she will do. I have lots of Welch's grape juice, a couple of good books and some snacks, the vet is on standby, my birthing kit is all ready and outside the foaling stall, I think I have it all under control.

Yes!!! Only 2 sleepless nights for me this time! She had a bay colt with plenty of chrome on Friday night at 10:20pm. No problems with this mare just foaled and then started looking for food. They are doing great, he is all legs which I was surprised about as she is only a 15.1hh mare. His legs are as long as Mommy's. I will try to get some better pics this week but here he is right out of the shute.........

Here he is in all his glory during his first outdoor romp. He is a absolute sweetheart. Very correct and just a real nice guy. Thanks for all the comments, we are very proud of our young lad. What am I doing wrong that the pics will not work??

Well, in this case, you didn't get all the code. See how the last bracket is missing at the end? And the first part of the code is for 'URL' not 'IMG' - wrong button.

You're on photobucket, so all you have to do is copy the complete contents of the IMG code box. You don't have to hit any other buttons here (that's what happened last time....the code got all doubled up).

Change that to [img], and add a bracket at the end....

My husband who had never done any of this until last year (it was always my job) retired and is now just horse crazy. I cannot keep him out of the barn and now especially the foaling stalls. He is so proud of all our mares and babies and cannot say enough about their Daddy - Shelter.

I think we may have a new one again tonight as a mare is leaking all over her stall. She is not due until May 5th to The Fed, another that was due April 12th is just starting to bag up??????? :?
