Strawberry Gogo's 2007 foal - for Lucy!

Postby KBEquine » Tue Sep 04, 2007 10:19 am

Lucy - So you can see Strawberry Gogo in semi-retirement [if you can call motherhood retirement].

And a more recent picture of the foal [barn name: Gogo Dancer because she's by SunDANCE Ridge, out of Strawberry GOGO. Unfortunately, someone already has the name in the JC registry, so she'll officially be named something else.]

Thanks! Gogo looks just wonderful, and that's sure a smart-looking baby. :D

I didn't want to hijack Jorge's thread any more than I already had, so I'll thank you here for posting the story on them....best of luck with your Bostonians!

Lovely baby . . . . . after seeing her picture the first name that popped into my head was, "Giddyup Gogo".

I like that. I was thinking "Go Gogo Go!"

Pity the poor track announcer . . .

What a hard knocking race mare she was! Adorable filly :)

Gogo

Thanks -- this filly had a sort of tough start, but turned out . . . tough. Like her mother.

I looked up Gogo's race record - her last race was in May, 2001 & her first foal arrived May, 2002 -- kind of an over-achiever from the track to the breeding shed. And in 2004, that 1st filly won her first race [a MSW] & was 2nd in her next two - which were stakes races. Gogo's 2nd filly was also stakes-placed at 2. This is a full sister to those two.

This mare has done everything anyone has ever asked of her - and I'm really glad Manny sold her to us.

We had 4 foals this year & this is the one we go back & forth between selling & doing a racing partnership. The others are clearly for sale.

Couldn't resist this "naming" suggestion (though I confess to liking the others very much as well):

"Go Go Boots"

(that foal does have at least one "boot" I can see - maybe more?)

(You must consider the source - this from someone who as a 13YO had died and gone to heaven when my Dad brought a pair back for me from a business trip to NY! in the very early '60's. I thought I was SO COOL in those white vinyl Corregge "Go Go" boots. My Dad turned out to be very 'fashion forward' in his choice. They were soon the rage the country over but I do think I can lay claim to wearing the first pair to be seen in Texas, where a different kind of boot had reigned supreme!)

I'd already submitted names when I saw the Gogo Boots.

Fortunately, we're hoping for a 2009 foal from Strawberry Gogo [she had this year off] & I'll definitely keep that name in mind!
