Appears to be past the danger period

My Prime Timber/Spanish Guitar filly born April 25th in New York started being sick in July with an abdominal abscess and pneumonia. Her condition was guarded, and two vets were sure she would die. But through a misunderstanding, she was kept at the farm instead of being hospitalized, being watched closely and on oral antibiotics. Each vet thought the other had hospitalized her, and was shocked she survived long enough to be re-examined at the farm.
However, she never got worse, and seemed to be just quiet and slowly improving, so she has stayed in the barn with her mother for about six weeks, eating and taking her medicines every day. Her ultrasound shows her abscess is shrinking, and her pneumonia is gone.
She's not in pain, and not sickened by the drugs. Last week she was allowed out all night, and this week is out all day as well. The farm manager reported today that she was actually kicking and playing in the field. She's eating well and starting to regain her weight; what a toughie like her mama!
Here's her picture from June, before she got sick. Her name is Opening Number.
