Lemon Drop Kid Filly

Postby LB » Sat Mar 01, 2008 6:25 pm

We had another chestnut filly on 2/27 by Lemon Drop Kid x Hot Weekend (Summer Squall). I hope we don't get all chestnut fillies this year.

Congrats LB!! Lovely filly.

Do you have 3 more foals coming? And so far 2 chestnut fillies? They seem to go in streaks, dont they...

Congrats, good looking filly. I don't care what color they are, as long as they can run.lol

We just have two more coming as one of our mares lost her foal a couple of weeks ago. That was another reason why we were happy to have this filly be so big and strong. As far as chestnut fillies are concerned, the streak can continue if they're all as nice as the first two. :)

I like the name Red Hots too.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your 5th foal, LB, its always sad to lose one esp after getting so close to delivery time.

gorgeous filly.. I am jealous of her chrome!

so far at the farm i am at.. all foals have been colts with tons of chrome... and then there is my plain bay filly (out of a mare with 4 white socks and a blaze! GRRR)

This is the first foal we've ever had that's this flashy. Most of ours are plain bay too, so I know how you feel. Considering the filly's parents, her coloring was totally unexpected, but a very pleasant surprise. :)

Thank you for the good wishes, everyone!:)

Unfortunately the name Red Hot is taken and the JC counts a plural as a dulpication, so Red Hots won't work. But thanks for the thought!
