Waiting, Waiting... (UPDATE: Wait is Over)

Postby Roguelet » Tue Mar 18, 2008 4:10 am

In true PQ annual tradition of posting = foaling, here we go. I'm waiting for one of our newest mares to foal, and she's driving me nuts. I was CERTAIN she was going to foal 3 nights ago but I was wrong. She's only at day 345 but she's as big as 2 mares put together and she just really needs to get on with it already.

OK, now that I've posted, I'm sure she'll go any minute...
waiting....

One week later, she still hasn't foaled. I REALLY thought last night was the night, but no...

She's been waxed up for about 5 days now, she's huge, and she's miserable. Oh, yeah, and I'm sick of staying up all night.

OMG, I know how you feel and then some!

This is my first foaling season and my second mare to foal isn't showing any signs of dropping any time soon and it was on a 3-7 cover! She was suppose to be due 2-10.

I feel like I'm harassing the boarding farm by emailing and calling but it's made me a nervous wreck. They assure me all is well though.

Good luck with your foaling!

It does do a number on your sanity, doesn't it?

She's been dripping milk today... she simply CAN'T hold it in much longer... can she???

2:28 am SOUNDS like the appropriate time for a mare to choose to drive everyone insane.
Congratulations!

Hey Rouge I guess she was like a watched pot. No boiling no baby until the very last minute. Congrats and good health. :D

Your posts made me giggle. I can only imagine doing foal watch with a mare that waxed for five days

Congrats on having a healthy foal :)
