New Foal out of Quiet Enjoyment and a Fool's Dance Mare

Watch our mare all night long to foal as she was showing signs of the first stages of labor. We turned her outside this morning for a little exercise as she didn't seem to be in hard labor and she had the foal in the lot. Our children have never seen a baby born so this was quite an experience for them and we were glad they were :D able to share in it with us.

Both mother and daughter are doing great and snuggled into their dry warm stall. Beautiful, big sorrel baby with 4 white socks. Pictures to follow later today! She was born at 11:30 this morning. Has been up and nursed and is very strong.

Congratulations on your new addition! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Just FYI, if this is a thoroughbred, then there is no sorrel color. Other breeds may recognize sorrel as a color but not the Jockey Club. More than likely since I have not seen the pics I am assuming its a "chestnut" which is a recognized color of the JC.

Good Luck with the new baby,
Larrygene

Congratulations!

I have a mare who prefers to foal outside. She crosses her legs all night long and tries to sneak to the back of the pasture when they're turned out in the morning. :)

Here are few pictures of our new baby. She is very tall with white on all four feet and just a few white hairs on her forehead. She is about 2 1/2 hours old in these photos.
