My mare had a Decarchy colt over the weekend, surprising me with a chestnut. I had just assumed the foal would be a bay, as both mom and dad are bays. Everyone is doing well, I will be off to see them next week, and pictures will follow. Very exciting!

Congrats! I have encountered many chestnuts (from two bay parents) that have gone on to be stakes horses :)

Congratulations!

Interesting comment, Mood Swings. I often get chestnuts from two bay parents (including two so far this year.) I hope it bodes well for their careers. :)

Doc, A Decarchy broke his maiden on the turf at SA the other day. Best of luck with your colt..

Yes, I saw that, I've got all the Decarchy's in my fantasy stable. We're hoping for a nice turfer, he's bred on his mama's side to like the turf, also.

I'm going to see him next week, hoping to get some nice pictures, which is sometimes problematic with my great picture taking skills, but nonetheless, its very exciting.
