Being waxed up for that long I would hope they would go any day now. Any guesses on how many more nights I will be watching them? And if they will foal together?
How long can this go on for???

How long can this go on for???
I have two mares due, and they have decided to make this a contest. My tb mare is due on June 15th, the hanoverian mare is due June 22nd. Both mares are HUGE, and have been waxed since Saturday (May 31st). I thought the tb mares water broke, but I was wrong and I guess it was just fluids.

I am having the goofiest dreams b/c of my lack of sleep.
The first dream I saw some guy on my camera reaching over the stall door and hitting my horse. The funny thing was that I knew I was dreaming and I couldn't wake up.
The second dream I looked at the moniter and there were 2 chestnut fillies in the stall. One filly was real tall and the other was a little shorter. I actually woke up my husband b/c I was talking in my sleep asking him how many horses he saw.

Thanks for the offer Foothill
The hanoverian mare finally foaled last night at 8:30. It was very good timing on her part. I was at a horse show for part of the day. On the way home we had tornado warnings. I get home just in time to get all the horses in out of the storm. It was a bad storm for our area. We acquired a trampoline in the mess
The neighbors 2 doors down lost it, and it ended up in my pasture. So when the storm ended I helped them get it back over the fence and to his house. They had us stay for their bar-b-que. I walked back home, went in the barn to feed, and she was laying down having her foal. Atleast she didn't wait until the middle of the night.
It was a very easy foaling. It is another medicine hat, a bay colt though. Mom is a hanoverian, dad is Indian Art, a son of Art Deco. He is HUGE. The sire is 17.2h and dam is 16h. I will get some pictures of him. His legs go on for miles.
This is 2 for 2 on medicine hats this year. Not exactly what I had ordered
but they are both healthy. One more mare to go, and it also has a good chance of being a medicine hat. This last foal will be a full thoroughbred. I am hoping for a filly, but I think it is a colt.

A medicine hat is a paint horse terminology for a horse that is white with colored ears. Sometimes, they also have a "shield", a colored patch on the chest. If there is more color on the head than just the ears, sometimes it's called a "war bonnet". Comes from the Indian paint ponies and the Indians' mystical beliefs that horses with these markings are somehow special.

Finally the last foal was born...and not a medicine hat
I don't know how I would be able to tell them all apart if he was a medicine hat. He is a bay tb colt, with 4 whites and a blaze, and a small white spot on his side. He is double registered JC and APHA. Here are links to their pics. The first one is the tb colt born this morning. The 2nd pic is the warmblood colt.
