Sad news! March Beat is gone.

Postby henthorn » Mon Jun 09, 2008 7:29 pm

Hop to It's April 4th colt by Bowman's Band died suddenly yesterday morning with pneumonia. The vet said his lungs were so full of abscesses that he had hardly any airway at all. He had shown no signs of illness until he seemed to be breathing hard that morning and had a fever.
We suspect that he was such a big strong colt that he didn't show any signs until he completely decompensated and crashed.

I had been praying for guidance on managing my youngsters, but I wasn't expecting this answer. It's nice to know God is listening and knows the right answers, even when we don't.

Here are his pictures from April at about two weeks of age.

How sad. I had heard that the Bowman's Bands were very nice, from the looks of your guy, I agree.

Henthorn you seem so strong and sturdy, someone who belongs in this business. You have had some of the worst luck. I hope it only means you are being prepped to shoulder the burden of huge success in the future. This was a beautiful foal and I'm sure the short life he had was wonderful.
