Last foal of the season

Carmel Ridge finally gave in last night and had a huge stunning filly. Solid bay just like her dam, not a bit of white. This is the first one I could be in the stall with, etc., since March when I broke my leg. The mare was uncomfortable last night, I spent an hour or so gently going over her with a rice root brush. Then around midnight or so, labor.

Carmel Ridge's first foal is still here, and will wait until the fall and be gelded before he starts race training. He is FAR TOO STUDDISH for a two year old and would be a nightmare at the track. He is also still physically a bit immature.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! The delivery must have been an easy one since you didn't mention any difficulties! I bet it feels great to be able to work around the horses again. All the best to you.

I'm still limping, but without the cane. I returned the walker and other medical equipment to the sweet gal that loaned me that stuff.

It's not late if you race them yourself. Sales foals need to be born in Jan-March.

I posted under Stable Watch about Punc, Miss Punctuality - the 2 yo filly getting ready to run. Mister Foster and Spirit of Rock have gone to the training center. SOR has been tacked and had a rider, MF just got there.
