My Little Man

Postby khalida74 » Thu Sep 04, 2008 8:53 pm

I had to show off my little man Moonlight Love Note by Salty Note out of Makadir.

I'm not completly familiar with TB's or horses for that matter. Hubby knows more then I do but not TB's.

This little guy is a orphan and of course that certainly pulled on my heart strings.

At this point we're loving him lots and enjoying his wonderful quiet and loving temperment.

We're not even sure what we can do with him, seems like he has a good lineage backing him but who knows. For now its just loving time =)

I didn't even know that it could only be 16 letters. Hmmmmmm now I'll have to rethink his name. We chose it because he was born around 3 am in the morning, and the fact that both his mother and his surogate mother both died.

I haven't added the little guy here yet because quite honestly I don't even know what I'm supposed to do or if I even can.

He really is a character. Since the first day we've had him he's stuck to us like glue, he'll follow us around the barn like a little puppy would. We can do anything to him andhe doesn't budge. The trust factor is definatly there on both sides. Prime example is my daughter often goes in the stall whens he's laying down sunbathing and sits beside him and sings to him. He loves it, he'll lay his head across her lap and go to sleep.

When we get him out in the paddock my hubby and daughter can both get him to race them. They walk around with him talking and then they'll say something like, ok little man lets run! and they'll start running and he go right along side them and passes. Its quite humerous to watch.

Now that hes gaining weight, had his hernia dealt with and corrected and been wormed he's getting alot more spunk too. Now him and my mothers TB run back and forth along the fence. (I don't have them together still too scared of the Mares not being nice to him)

khalida74 - If you like the name you can always just delete a space.

He is a cutie.

You certainly can, once he's registered. :)

The character limit's actually 18, so as Nferro pointed out, all you'll need to do is leave out a space to get it past the Jockey Club - or just spell it 'Moonlite'.

Well his birth should be registered shortly after Oct 1st and then I can get him out up here.

I was wondering if anyone cold help with a few things.

1: Name suggestion. After having a family powwow we've decided Moonlight Love Note is not a good name for him. It doesn't suit him.

A name that I do like is Azarius in some form.

So again his Dam's name is Makadir (now deceased) and his Sires name is Salty Note. He was an orphane not once but twice. He's a wonderful baby wih such a loving temperment. He was Born May 6th 2008

Heres a better pic of him taken Friday. He was being frisky and this moment was when he stopped running around the paddock for a moment. I wish I could take his friskier pics but with a cell phone cam it doesn't some out clear enough.

2: Am I correctly feeding him or should I be adding or taking something away from his diet. This is what the feed store has suggested and he is getting more fat on him then when I first got him. But I think he needs more fat in his ass end.

He is on 2 handfuls of Stama per feeding and 1 full scoop of the devoloper pellets. Plus a flake or two of hay. Keep in mind this is Per feeding and he gets two feedings a day. The vet has been in and has confirmed his worms and such are all gone. and suggested the increase to what it is now. But again I think he needs something going to his ass end, or maybe I'm just fretting for no reason.

Thanks in advance for any and all help =)
