My mare is currently six days overdue and I was wondering ... what is the longest some of you have waited for a foal to be born?

My longest wait is to 349 days--which is probably pretty lucky. Generally my mares all foal right around 340 days. I've heard of mares who were pregnant for more than a year though.

Two years ago, had a mare that went a bit over a year, waited so long I don't think any of us remember how long exactly-7 weeks of waiting in a cold barn will do bad things too your brain ;)
Foal did'nt come out huge either-
Would have thought that the dates were wrong, but she took on the first heat cycle-so her conception date could'nt be off by more than a few days.

Haha. I was giggling reading these, because our mare went 367 days with 3 of hers. She had the 4th at 3 weeks overdue, and only because her best buddy went in and foaled in the middle of the afternoon, so she followed her.
This latest one, now 16 days old, was ONLY 4 weeks and a day past the due date. We don't even start thinking about breaking a sweat till the 25th day past the due date anymore.
:P

I had a mare that went 370 days last year. But she was a Lord At War mare who'd had a spotty reproductive history so needless to say I was JUST THRILLED when that colt came out, no matter how late he was.
