YIPPEE ... A FILLY !!!!!!

Our string of colts has been broken. Carly Pooh, our mare by Beau Genius, gave us a HUGE filly by Mutakddim this morning.
The farm tells us that this filly is even bigger than the colt we had on Easter Sunday, named Easter Glory, who himself was of the xtra lg. variety. Something about Mutakddim ... he gets BIG, BIG, SUBSTANTIVE babies ... at least that's our experience.
We'll make the road trip to Pa. this evening and pictures in the A. M.

Thanks to all ! Yes Ascotstud ; Carly absolutely ran ( placed ) at Keeneland as well as just about everywhere else in the Northeast. She also competed at Belmont, Aqueduct, Meadowlands, Monmouth, both Md. facilities, Saratoga etc ... never missed a campaign. Really long day yesterday ... pictures a little bit later.

There ya go ... she's a really big, tall girl for only 12 hrs. old. She's got a blazing red coat which my photo's really don't do justice to. We've submitted 2 names for approval. Since my future son in law is a big fan of things medieval ( King Arthur & such ) we've submitted Lady Guenivere or Lady Gueniviere. We know the spelling is incorrect but since the correct way is taken and unless you've a British accent you can't tell the difference anyway we gave it a shot.

nice picture, from what I remember the mare was a real hard knocker, the kind of horse that shows up every race. Good luck with the mare and foal

Congrats! I remember this hard-knocking mare from her racing days, too. Glad to see she ended up in a loving home, and getting a chance with some top-notch stallions, too!

Thanks for the kind words. I flew all the way out to Oklahoma in the dead of summer to get her and trust me when I tell you ... I don't do airplanes !!! She's been worth every second of that flight.
