While I am waiting for Junior to arrive I am pondering names. Usually I am good with creative ones but the thinking cap is stuck at the moment.
The mare:
My Kickin Cass

and Daddy-O:

She is at 322 days but the butt started to soften yesterday so I am thinking she only has about a week.
Supposedly it is a colt..........but some girly back up names would be good!

On the whole we have gone with Native American themes for Boomer's foals before but not necessary to stick to that. Last year's his foals were colt Tammanend (Delaware chief), filly Iroquois Priestess and the dang filly that went 6 weeks overdue is Fashionablee Late! Also Frederic (see below)

Due a week after her (no signs of foaling anytime soon) is Pirate's Widow.

Are going for a Pirate theme here. Last year's colt was Frederic, named after a character in Pirates Of Penzance. Supposedly a filly coming this year.

Not due until much later:
Miss Annihilator

Between daddy's name (Wild By Design) and the mares pedigree (Native Dancer/Chieftain) I do want to stick with the Native American or Indian Chief themes again. Her last colt is a big boy. Sire is 16.2/mare is 15.3.......Tammanend looks like he will mature to 16.3  .Her first 2 foals are maturing to 16.2. She makes bigger kids :!: . Supposedly a colt again.

Well, if you especially like the pirate (and specifically Pirates Of Penzance) theme, how about Go Ye Heros? The women's chorus sang:

Go ye heros, go to glory
You shall live in story!
As you go to death and slaughter,
know that every English daughter
with her tears your grave shall water,
go ye heroes, go and die!

Of course, without the context of the musical, the satire and farce is utterly lost.

I'm trying to picture marketing Widowmaker for sale   :P
(FWIW it's already used too  )

Go Ye Heroes: probably most folks didn;t associate Frederic with P of P either
Jolly Rogerette and Buccaneers Gal are avail. should she have a filly. Lady of the Sea: used. Swashbuckler: used. Swashbuckle without the r: used in 1978. I think that means it can be used again by now? I DO like that one for a colt :)

My Wild Design is good. If the foal comes out a pinto I might use that one! Kickupyourheels is used. I am trying to keep the names sorta classy so avoiding the whole Cass/Ass reference. I am sure that was the idea with the dam's name Kickin Cass already

Still waiting of the fat waddly mare. Boomer's trainer had a good one for a spunky filly: My Kickin Lass. My Spunky Lass like above would be good too. So, since we have good girl names it will probably be a colt
