Vivid Dreams' filly

Postby henthorn » Fri Apr 14, 2006 8:37 am

Vivid Dreams again came through with a foal earlier than her due date (two of three deliveries). Yesterday she deposited a big, reportedly beautiful filly by Millennium Wind at Little River Farm, Versailles, KY :D . The farm manager says the baby's head is beautiful, she's big, and has lots of white on her. I can't wait to see photos. Both are doing well. Mom is being scheduled to visit Saarland soon. Here's a picture of Vivid from this winter.

Hop to It is due on the 26th, and Spanish Guitar due May 20th.

The farm manager assures me the photos are ready to be uploaded and e-mailed on the new filly. Meanwhile I've been wracking my brain for a good name for this daughter of Millennium Wind out of Vivid Dreams. My choices are either so-so or are already taken.

But today I submitted a name request that meets my approval and is pending approval by the Jockey Club. Her name will be Gale Warning, pending unforeseen problems with the name. What do ya think? Cool? 8)

I love the name and can't wait to see the foal. I too am waiting for photos from two different farms that are supposed to be "on their way"

Can't wait to see how much white she has . . . . . .

If Gale Warning doesn't clear . . . . . .how do you like Windy Dreams??
I checked and it is available.

Pictures have arrived

Postby henthorn » Sun Apr 23, 2006 3:37 pm

As promised, the photos arrived today and she is a cutie! She has a long connected star and stripe and one white foot only. A little knock-kneed doll!

Back to the drawing board. Keep those naming ideas coming. Gale Warning was rejected, as too similar to Gayle Warning. It seems there are lots of "blow" names available, but I'm not ready to commit to any new names yet.

A Thousand Dreams is taken. I happen to know the person that owns that horse

How about "Dreams In The Wind" or Dreams On The Wind"?

Congratulations. I like the filly and her dam. Naming is half the fun, so enjoy the process. I assume that Millenium Dream is taken? What about Winning Streak? I am sure you will find the right name in time.

New name for the little girl!

Postby henthorn » Mon May 01, 2006 1:23 pm

BJ gets the prize for the winning name. Our chubby little knock-kneed cutie by Millennium Wind out of Vivid Dreams is officially DREAMS ON THE WIND. Lots of good names were tried, but all were rejected by the Jockey Club due to commercial names, similar names, etc. So now Vivie has two daughters named Dreams, but they are three years apart in age.
3yo Dreams for Hire is prepping for a fall or summer racing season. The picture is from two weeks ago. She's a beauty like her mother, and just as wicked. All who know them use the "b" word and the "w" words ending in "itch" interchangeably for the both of them.
