I can not confirm the pedigree... is this one of those "fake" horses that sometimes crop up?

There is a pedigree that matches...I added her to the DB.

I talked with the owner of the horse (Lordofthemorning) and she told me that she wanted to go as a riding horse because as she stated, "riding horses get better care than broodmares." I guess she doesn't know my mares - they live quite the life. I treat them how I wanted to be treated when I was pregnant with my children. She also claimed that she has decided to keep her and put some training into her. Also stated that she lost a foal with her and thought she lost a foal w/previous owner.
At least, that's what she told me.

evenheaven - amen ... :D

Yeah - when she told me that, thats fine. Its her decision. But my girls have a stall each night, get groomed 4-6 x per week, get their manes pulled, get treats and carrots every day and get nothing but the finest of care.

I guess if we had 50 or 100++ mares, whole 'nuther story as to how much time you could spend with each of them, but with 1-3 mares - LOTS of time for everyone!!! :)

I was gonna say much the same......I have 5 mares, and they're spoiled rotten. All the turn out they want, unlimited hay, breakfast and dinner, treats galore, and little girls to braid their manes & tails and kiss their noses.

Couldn't imagine having 100 mares, though, in all honesty!! Not even 50. I think I'll take quality over quantity any day. :D

Found this one flipping through at the top of your thread (equine now), funny how you look through some threads and find some horses like people are looking for..

I have a client selling a big chestnut mare, that is simply gorgeous. Only thing is she was mismanaged as a foal and has a club foot.. None of her foals have had club feet, I can take pictures of the mare and her filly that has been weaned. Gorgeous chestnut, with excellent conformation.. At least 16.2h tall! She is registered, and has only had JC registered foals.

May have some other chestnut mares for sale too.. let me look!

Just went to see Lordofthemorning and I know the owner. She did have a filly but it was lost after it was foaled (I believe it was septic) http://limitededitionfarm.homestead.com ... ivals.html
I don't know why she wouldn't want her to be sold as a broodmare unless she does know something is wrong with her.

Lordofthemorning is NOT the same mare as the one whose owner didn't want her bred. Lordofthemorning is a lovely PLAIN chestnut mare, located in Michigan, proced at $1000. The chestnut sabino mare that is on youtube is in Wisconsin. She is priced at $1500. THAT owner for some reason doesn't want the mare in a breeding home. She is sorely misinformed IMO regarding the PROPER care of broodmares. Here is part of the original post from springboro:

"693161 Nice chestnut mare with pic. Lordofthemorning, 16 hands and a good producer. $1,000 in Michigan.

419908 CHECK OUT THE PICTURE and she's 16.1 $1500 in Wisconsin. SHE IS PERFECT!!!"

Two different mares. Lordofthemorning looks very nice. I wouldn't deqal with the seller of the other mare even if she was priced at $50 after reading some of the comments she made via e-mail. THAT's a nightmare waiting to happen, IMO.
