Hi LB,
I appreciate your expertise. However, both of the parents ARE under 4 lbs...with all of their hair. As of the last time I weighed the pups on 2/8 the Red girl was 24 oz Apricot boy was 28 oz. Both under 4 oz at birth. The girl should be 3 1/2 lbs and the boy should be 3 3/4 lbs. According to a poodle size chart that has been accurate in the past. And yes while teacup is not a recognized size with AKC, all my poodle are Toys...just rather small ones. People looking for this size dog tend to look for Tea-Cup (by the way, not "teacups" would not fit in one... as they only hold 8 oz...) I am not asking you to buy one. I do appreciate the standards to which show dogs are held. I show Dobermans and German Pinchers. The Doberman needs a major and the GP is finished. These are not show dogs. They are small companions. The parents are akc registered. You could probably find a lovely tempered poodle in the pound... but probably not one like my pups. Also in the picture of the dad standing with the book, puzzle pieces and sponge, you can probably gather he is as small as I say and not a large toy.

As an approved AKC judge I can tell you Tea Cup Poodles are not an accepted variety and these sure aren't them (but Cute) Tea Cup poodles are bred for the pet market, I know someone who had one it was about the size of a large gerbil. and 3 grand is a whole lot for one, we sell our top quality show bred pointer and English Setter puppies for 1250.00 and 1500.00 not that there is a big pet market for our breeds thank god! it keeps them out of the hands of puppy miller and back yard breeder types :!:

PS. Was not implying you are back yard breeder or pup mill person, pups look very happy and healthy. Just speaking in general.

As I stated I know they are not an accepted variety. But my dogs DO fall within the "guidelines" of teacup size. Pricing on line ranges from$1,200-4,000 for poodles this size.

Didnt I just hear on the Westminster Dog Show this week, warning that the phrase "tea cup" applied to any toy breed is USUALLY used by a less than experienced breeder? As tea cups are not an accepted breed? In the next sentence he warned that there are dangers when breeding for small size only, with possible health consequences.

Here is one for $600, expected to be 4 1/2-5 lbs as adult. http://www.poodlesatbellerose.com/nursery_page_two.htm

Another expected to be 4-5 lbs for $600 http://www.poodlesatbellerose.com/nurserypagefour.htm

Here are some CKC pups for $1k-1200 http://www.prettypawpuppies.com/poodlepuppies.html

Found this on a breeders website:
http://www.adorablepoodles.net/

Size Adult Weight Height Price
Extra Tiny Teacups 1 - 2 lbs. 8" and under $3,500 - $5,000
Tiny Teacups 2 - 3 lbs. 8" and under $2,500 - $3,500
Teacups 3 - 4 lbs. 8" and under $1,800 - $2,500
Tiny Toys 4 - 6 lbs. 8" - 9" $1,200 - $1,800
Toys 6 - 8 lbs. 10" and under $850 - $1,500
Miniatures 10 - 15 lbs. 10" - 15" $750 - $1,000

One here that will be 2-4 lbs full grown (est) for 1800
http://sharminspoodles.homestead.com/puppypage.html (black phantom color)

And Poochie girl on the same page 14 oz at 9 weeks - 1500.

Pups available here from $950-4500 with majority in middle range http://www.puppiesforsalebynet.com/poodle.htm

Now... IIRC correctly you stated that these are selling as companion animals...which is a whole different kettle of fish than selling show pups.

Not trying to pick on you secret link - just showing what other pups I have found on a very quick google search. The last show dog that I was going to buy (Keeshonden) was 1200 for a show quality pup, 700 for a companion pup. Their sire was Ch Keeburnie Blue Ribbon Friday from Canada.

I am assuming by your pricing that both parents are champions and that these pups must be show quality. Best of luck to you with these pretty pups.

At Westminster this week (on tv, I didnt go) 2 of the final 7 were poodles - a toy and a standard.

Jessie P, You are not picking on me, you just showed the pricing I was talking about. I do show dogs, just not poodles. In dobermans people often pay $2,500 and over for a nice show pup. As everyone has said teacup is used as a marketing word that people are familiar with to let folks know the pups are going to be small, below ideal standard. Of course the parents are not Champions, they are too small and were not bred as show dogs. The prices I am asking of $1950-2550 are not out of the normal realm for 3 1/2-3 3/4 lb pups as you have shown. I also think mine are very attractive compared to some, but on that I may be biased. Everyone pays different amount for different things. In this Thoroughbred breeding world stud fees of $10,000 and up are common place. In the Sport Horse breeding world there are VERY few even approaching that.

I show dogs and can see where they are pricey (scotties run upwards of $1500.) I honestly can't see why someone who obviously shows dogs would sell non -AKC breeds for tons of money. It just seems contradictory. I wouldn't be caught dead breeding and selling labradoodles. I'd get kicked out of our breed club in an instant.

They are AKC just below standard for size. They are pretty correct other than that. And they fit in my bag and I can take them EVERYWHERE. It is quite fun and they are great companions. different breeds cost different amounts. I looked into Cavaliers for instance, and they were $2000-$2,500. I dont feel as though I am doing anything dastardly, but others may disagree.

Secretlink -- I applaud your continued patience and good will given the amount of criticism and negative input you recieved from a simple "puppies for sale" posting.

I mean, honestly, if you don't want one, don't buy one.

Hear, Hear. I agree!

"Breeders" sell Labradoodlepoos for $1000+, and pet stores sell mixes they can't even distinguish for close to 1k. I'd like to think that at the least these pups are loved and well taken care of.

If somebody wants to pay $2000. let them.

Me, I'm a German Shepherd lover over and over, so I can't even fake liking, or thinking I'm going to spend 2k for a tea-cup whatever.

Thanks for the empathy! They are loved and well cared for. I have a boy and a girl, we bred them and have two pups. Not a large operation. They have been a blast, my kids and I have enjoyed them thoroughly... now it is someone elses turn :)

German Shepherds were my first love :D Nothing like them really. We then had a Lab.......she was awesome in her own way. Now I have mixed breed (Boxer and who knows what) rescue puppy. He's beautiful -- has all the boxer coloring and markings, but without the "pushed in" face associated with boxers. I think he's mixed with something big as his paws are huge and he's growing like a weed on steroids. I love big dogs, so I'm not a tea cup person either. My kids would LOVE one though. So, never say never I always say.
