Oakhurst is great, and I am sad to see them leave Oregon, but there are a few large mistakes in the sale catalog that make me wonder about the accuracy of the rest of the catalog. For instance, Marshua's Secret is listed as ten years younger than her actual age, and La Delegada's pedigree has Lac Ouimet listed as her sire and her broodmare sire. Just a couple of things I noticed, but it makes me wonder what other incorrect info might be in the catalog as well. You might want to do a comprehensive fact check prior to Saturday's sale, as anything that raise doubts in the minds of buyers is not a good thing, especially in this current uneasy market.

You aren't kidding about uneasy market. Looking at horse prices in general around this region, it may be hard for the local market to absorb this dispersal as advertised. I would not be surprised to see some of the horses pictured on the website go for much less than the quoted prices, nice though some of them are.

Many (if not most) of the horses have reserves. I may be mistaken, but didn't previous advertising indicate that there would be NO reserves? Several of the horses in the catalog are also listed as "available" for the listed price, but won't go through the ring.

Hopefully someone is looking out for the older mares, such as #52, who hasn't produced a live foal in what will have been 5 years. (And she's been under care of a 'reproductive specialist' all that time!.

Did anyone go? I am curious to find out how many Jack sold for the prices advertised.

I was there. Of the 62 hips listed, 19 RNA'd, 12 did not go through the ring, and 5 were either withdrawn or sold prior to the auction. 18 horses went throught the ring without a reserve. The lowest price was $200.00 and the highest was a few thousand.

Pretty dismal, in my opinion.

Does anyone know how much the Seattle Shamus foals sold for?

The sale prices for Seattle Shamus' foals, ranged from a low of $200-a weanling out of Impetuous Affair, to a high of $5000 out of a secretariat mare (Marshua's Secret). Most of the ones that went through the ring were less than $800 (with the exception of the one already mentioned here). The others either did not go through the ring or did not meet the reserve. If you are looking for particular hip numbers, you can pm me.

It is always best to go see for yourself, when stallions are relocated. Aren't most of the stallions EVA shedders?

Hmmmm  If only I was closer but I don't really race horses and probably wouldn't unless I thought they had a good chance. But I'd love me a nice sound dapple gray mare, especially a free one!!!

Suzy, why are you giving them away? I wish I had room, I would take them, but I am full right now with layups from the track and my own horses. Sorry I can't help.

I just read in the data base he was euthanized. I know colic can be bad, as Iv'e had my share....... What a nice horse...He'll be missed.
