Yes jenny which horse is that in your avatar? Pretty!
The horses were all seized, later on ownership was surrendered in the plea deal. S.O.P. Some horses recover faster than others and they were in varying stages of weight. Some of the ones I've seen look fine and could be adopted now. Others, not so much.
I hope they start adopting them out soon both to ease their burden and to get these horses into a new homes. From what I understand (may be different in NY) horses sold/adopted out as legal preceedings (like a sheriff's sale, etc.) can get replacement papers just like OTTBs can when bought from an auction. You just have to prove who they are (Easy by DNA but you need a starting point too so it would be very helpful if someone from the farm could help ID all the horses or at least the names/markings.) They said the young ones seemed unhandled. It sort of sounds like maybe they were never registered? If the stallion and mare reports were filed they could still be registered (at a cost of course!) and with their racing/breeding prospects I would think it would not be an economical choice. They don't need papers to show or ride. It is unfortunate that other place did not bother to try and figure out the IDs of their horses when they had PAPERS. It wouldn't be that hard to narrow them down to just a few DNA tests except maybe for the foals/youngsters.

Hi Guys
The pic is of my stallion GONE FISHIN. I have to say myself he is a very nice looking boy. So send your mares!!!
He was also no slouch on the race track he made $490,551.00
ya is sounds a bit stupid to put all those horses through the sale when they had papers. I mean all you have to do is compare the horses to the markings on the papers. Even a plain dark bay or whatever is very scrutinized when you go to get the tattoo done at the track if every whirl is not in the right place you get denied and have to change the papers. So anyone with a bit of knowledge could just check for the whirls and find out which one belonged to which set of papers. Although if they have not been handled then good luck
The mares I purchased from Gerry several years ago now. Seemed like they had never seen humans. They were however registered. That is how I ended up getting hooked up with Chris Irwin. You could not deal with them the way I was taught. You know the conventional way. So I started using his methods and the rest is history. I am now a Chris Irwin Cert coach and trainer and have never looked back!!!

it's a sad deal but if I was boarding horses somewhere I would be making sure they were well taking care of. Part of a horse owner is to make sure your animals are well maintained and its not a overnight deal that horses start going down hill.
