He is a person who has always taken first class care of his horses and has given a lot to the effort to follow his dream and breed a classic racehorse. I am very sorry to read about the what is going on with Dormello Stud. These are hard times for a lot of us, and I hope that someone can step forward and find a home for some of these mares. Best of luck Brian.

I 2nd this. I've been to his farm. He's done everything right and all the horses are in great shape.

I too have been to Dormello stud, met Briand and his brother. We were even going to do some business, but it didn't work out for us last year.

Brian is a nice guy, and a person who was committed to racing, and Texas racing to boot!!

I understand on a much lower scalethan Brian, but I'm down sizing and trying to get/stay afloat myself.

Last year I had 6 mares, bred them all, gave 2 of them away, and will sell or give away 2 more this year, and won't breed but 1 of those I have remaining. I'm selling all of the horse I can, and hope to get enough to hold on and see what will happen with the slots and purses in Tx.

I don't spend 38K a month, but I spend all of my pay, and most of my savings is gone, eat Romain noodles, car pooling, so forth and so on.

i hope the economy turns around for Brian, you, and myself included.

Brian i hope things turn around for you, and one day you find yourself back in the horse business!

Sincerely,
Theophilus Scales, jr.

Good luck Brian and I hope you can find good homes for these mares. This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to get in as a breed to race owner to pick up a couple of nice mares. Or if they have the looks show horse breeding.

We had an ice storm yesterday that turned to mud today, but I will get pics of the mares and some of their foals and post them this weekend.
