MA: 2000 mare, $95K earner, 1/2 to SP, $500 OBO - MUST GO!

Postby Waquoit » Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:42 am

Hello,

Just learned that a trainer had Suffolk Downs has a beautiful, very sweet-natured 6 y.o. mare in his barn who MUST GO ASAP. She is a broodmare prospect only, as she is very sore on front osslelets.

Trainer will take $500 OBO just to move her. Please call Marcus at 774-232-3485.

Please note: Trainer open to reasonable offers, but please do not ask him to give the mare away, and please, if you are a long-distance buyer, make sure you can pay shipping costs before calling.

I don't have any other information on the mare, and finding her a home is the priority here, not speculating on why the trainer is in a rush to move her. He has two barns full at Suffolk and the owner wants her gone, so he is trying to do just that.

Having seen this mare in person, I can tell you she is BEAUTIFUL, big and very kind. Please pass the word along to anyone you know of who can give this girl a home.

Hi,

This mare had a bit of class on the track. Given her race record of:

38-4-6-5 $95,088

she ran in races where the average purse was over $20,000.

Hope someone can use her.

Regards,

Pete

I like her and her pedigree but am at horse maximum for my budget. Someone ought to take her. She comes from a classy solid family and with good stallion selections could produce nice horses.

If I remember correctly she is a little bay mare, very sweet, she had some sort of unsoundness issues & she is oneof Mile Gill's horses. You are right crystal, his horses always have to go asap because gill won't pay day money. I thought that he got out of racing for other issues - marcus always has barns full of horses and there are always more and more that need thespace

Thanks to everyone who is spreading the word about Sailor's Wave. (For the record, she is a big - 16.1, close to 16.2 - dark bay/near black mare and her owner is not Mike Gill.)

I am waiting on a call back from the trainer to see if anyone has stepped forward to take her. Keep your fingers crossed!

I have networked with a gal in vermont to see if anyone would take her and give her a home - I can't right now - there is no space in the barn - if I remember correctly she had an ankle last summer (when I worked for marcus) and they probably have been in it a couple of times - she is a wonderful and sweet mare and sort of shy - let me know if anyone finds a home for her - is she a canter horse or a trainer listing - I do know that if the money stops then they ususally go and it is to phil price

I sent an e mail to ne equine in dover to see if anyone would be interested in taking her. I would say coming from marcus' barn she would have to have a professional or a vet own her or someone who could afford surgery - such a pity - see if we can place her

JimP, Mini's Mom was speculating about a potential need for surgery based on past experiences with this particular trainer.

When CANTER took the listing we saw no reason to believe this mare needs any surgery. (obviously, only X-rays could tell for sure).

She has large, green osselets that are clearly bothering her, but has no other apparent issues (and in fact, posted a workout yesterday - though I can't believe she's running on those ankles!)
