Hello,
CANTER NE was recently referred to a gentleman in northern MA who is trying to find a good home for a beautiful, very well-bred 12-year-old TB mare. Though we cannot take her into our adoption program, since she is not coming directly from the racing industry, we did offer to help him by posting online about this lovely lady.
Montrachet is a very attractive, 15.2-hand chestnut mare with some highly desirable bloodlines:

Her current owner acquired her with the intention of starting a Warmblood breeding operation, but has since decided that he'd rather go in a different direction, and is phasing TBs out of his program. He says that Montrachet has been Oldenburg-approved, is very correct and has a great, blocky build; though she is not a tall mare, she is very substantial. She has a wonderful disposition, is a pleasure to handle, and is a proven broodmare who produces great-looking foals.
Montrachet is well-broke under saddle, and is so gentle that her owner says a 12-year-old girl has been trail riding her out in company. She is not a jumping or eventing candidate, but should be sound enough for trail and pleasure riding, in addition to serving as a broodmare.
This owner is very concerned that Montrachet go to an excellent home - he is willing to give her away, as money is not his priority, but he wants to be sure that she only ends up in good hands.
For more information about this very nice mare, please call Dr. Schrubb (pronounced "SHROOB") at 978-957-5733 (he is a dentist and this is his office number). Serious inquiries only, please.

Waquoit,
Have you posted this on http://ewarmbloods.net/phpbb/?
They have a Thoroughbred forum geared towards sporthorses & breeding... might be another good place to post her info.

This is my question - I am trying to save money for a car, so another horse isn't good timing at the moment, but I can look and see how to allocate my resources to see if anything could work... but my question to you is this, what level rider does she require, and what is the background on her health and soundness??
If I can work out some sort of boarding agreement with the farm I keep my goats at, maybe (and that's a big maybe) something could work out.
I use the Equine Clinic at Oakencroft as my vet, along with the Cobleskill Veterinary Clinic. Corey Hetterman and Bob Doyle are the only two people so far who I've used or consider using on feet around here. The farm has 30+ acres of turnout and with any luck, would have the same boarding scenario as before.
