Looking to Lease Mares for '08 Season

Postby Avila Acres » Fri Sep 14, 2007 7:54 am

If you have a mare that you won't be breeding in 08, please consider a free lease with me and my farm. We have a stallion, Ingot by Seeking the Gold and out of Catinca who we are looking to get started in his breeding career next year. While we are unable to buy any mares at this time, we are able to board them starting this fall and keep them until weaning and maybe even breeding them back to Ingot in '09 if that's agreeable. We will have the mare insured based on an agreed estimated value as a further assurance to you the owner. We would be owners of the resulting foal but can have the paperwork done up as co-breeders. We will be responsible for shipping.

Although beggers can't be choosers as the saying goes, we still want to see conformation pictures of the mare to ensure a good match-up and if it is obvious that the match would result in any serious conformation faults, we will regrettfully pass on taking on the mare. Because our stallion is a new stud, we would love to have broodmares but would certainly consider maidens as well.

Your mare will receive loving care attention in a small family run farm and have 24 hour turnout until the weather gets cold - and it does get very, very cold here in Southern Ontario. The mare will be turned out with other even-tempered horses and possibly some of our sheep and goats.

If interested, you can email me at [email protected]

Thank You!

Hi there,

Have you seen the mare Applied Economics on the CANTER New England site? Her owner says she will consider a breeding lease. She is the second listing down on the page - very pretty mare, retired sound after 101 starts too!:

Oh yes, Applied Economics is lovely, and is as durable as they come. If you can get her, please do take her.

Lease Mares

Postby 20dourmdd » Sun Sep 16, 2007 8:17 am

I have two mares that may fit your plans...Both mares won at the track...one has had four foals. the other has a weanling. I ran a hypo on them with INgot...looks interesting. I was going to send them to Pa. in 2008 for breeding, but your message caught my eye. Email me if you like the pedigree. Horses: Charming Heiress, Coach's Dream
Coach has produced Out Coached, Coach's Enshrinee, Moody Coach, and a weanling that died due to colic. Out Coached is a winner, Coaches Enshrinee was at the track bowed a tendon in a work this spring and is now in Pa. going to be bred; Moody Coach is at a training center and should be at the track by Oct. 1, 2007. Charming Heiress produced her first foal, a colt by Morluc this spring. I did not breed either back this spring...due to having too many to get to the track...I try to race what we breed. So, every other year has been my plans. Coach's foals are near perfect, spirited, and smart. Charming Heiress' foal is very nice, little over at the knees, but he has speed all over him. I have a third mare that has produced 3 foals...Her name is Wild Bishop...her foals are Dustoffthepunch, a 3yr.old he took second in a maiden race at GLD at first asking, One Wild Mood is a 2 yr.old still on the farm maturing, and a weanling by Pacific Wave. Her foals are big boned, short coupled, excellent hip. I can get pictures if you are interested in their pedigree.

Check out "No Lie She Try" on the Pedigree Query. I don't know if she goes with your stallion, but is available. Picture is of her and this years foal. She was left open due to late foaling this year. If interested pm me.

To everyone who has replied to me, I haven't had much of a chance the past two days to respond but will try to catch-up tonight. Thank you!
