Wow, I just took a look at these mares...Mindy Gayle is impressive and sells in foal to Sun King. And Crestary, if those are current pictures, does not look her age! (check out the build on her) And she has an interesting pedigree that you don't see too often. Of course I am fascinated by "old" pedigrees and seeing Whirlaway's family intrigues me.
Best wishes to your friend with these mares....lovely set of ladies for sale.

broodmares

Thanks
Some of them have nice pedigrees but let me just say to all prospective buyers, ALWAYS do your research before buying any horse.
The reason I say that is some of these mares went through the ring recently and did not get one bid. They were probably picked up after the sale for less than $1,000 and this seller is now asking for much more.
I normally would not bring this up but I was at a sale where at least two of the mares were sold and one was announced no longer infoal and this new owner not only has her listed as being infoal, but also mentions how the foal she's allegedly carrying will be worth more than the asking price. That's something that can't be guaranteed and as of a month ago, she was pronounced as slipped.
Again, don't know this person but always do your research before buying any horse. By all means, if these mares fit your program, buy them.

broodmares
I would think anyone buying an in foal mare would have it checked by a VET. As far as that goes all broodmare prospects, mares not in foal or mares that have slipped should and must be VET checked. If you spring for a phone call
the now owner will be more then happy to fill you in on what is going on with these mares.
Auction site online
For some reason, the link to the La Spring Mixed Sale won't let me cut and paste, but if you go to www.horseauctions.com, you can find the page from there. Enter the site, and there's a listing of the sales. The La Spring Mixed Sale in just about 20 or so entries down, under the long listing of NCHA Super Stakes. Good luck!
