TB MARE FOR SALE IN PA
Here is a link to my website. She is posted for sale on there with a picture. The owner is desperate to sell her. I'd purchase her myself if I had the room.

***Update***
****UPDATE***** Her owner is talking about sending her to a dealer. I'd hate to see that happen but I don't have any room to take in any other horses right now. She seems to have decent bloodlines and may potentially be a decent broodmare. Owner does have her papers on hand. If someone has room that they can make an offer for her please do. I'd feel horrible if she ended up at a dealers or worse.

What makes the owner think she'd be a good broodmare?
Because she has a uterus?
You say you'd hate to see her end up at a dealer or worse.
The worse would be someone breeding this mare because that's just going to create more foals who will wind up in danger of going to slaughter.
I can't see anything about this mare to reccommend breeding her.
Aside from the Storm Cat angle: while her dam is a non-entity, her 2nd dam appears to either still be in production or at least have some young stock possibally headed to the races/on the track and/or possibally going to the breeding shed that could help her out a bit. I said "COULD" - it's a LOOONG SHOT - better really really like that Storm Cat breeding up top
.
Further back: her third and fouth dam proved the font of several outstanding runners/producers - though success appears to be spotty amongst all their offspring and their offspring's offspring - then again this database may very likely not be complete as to all racing stats, so if you're considering buying it's worth getting the full production report for this mare's first three or four dams:
Family of WORLDY APPEAL, PEARLIWHIRLI, among several other genuine racehorses....mostly the hard working kind, but several who amassed in excess of $200K lifetime and some stakes wins in there.
To me - from the photo posted - it appears to me that this young mare has tangled with a fence at one time as she has some serious scarring going on at her right shoulder and upper foreleg.
Mikki - is she as banged up as I'm interpreting from the photo? Is she sound for riding? Do you know how that happened?

I tried to find the email that her owner sent me but I wasn't able too.
I have never seen her in person. I have communicated with her current owner and she did tell me that the mare had an accident that required her getting stitched, as you can see in the pix. From what her owner has told me they are superficial and do not hinder her movement nor trouble her at all.
She did email me about a month ago and tell me that she rode her without any issues. She also said there is no lameness and that she has been used for jumping. I don't know the extent of her retraining. Current owner listed her as green. I've asked her for more recent pixs. Hopefully I'll get some!
I thought about making an offer on her but I have one horse that is supposed to be coming in and another maybe so I cannot commit to anything and her owner seems to be getting impatient.

I am sure there is some quarter horse people on her...
anyone?
I see nothing that would indicate she'd be a good candidate for producing appendix qh foals. Granted, it's not a great conformatin shot. IMO, quarter horse people should be a little more discriminating than they generally are when they choose their breeding stock (of tb or qh ancestry).
Her pedigree doesn't show anything I'd look for ... there are some TB lines that have been very successful in the QH racing world. She doesn't have them.
QH people (yes, it's a generalization) seem to be happy with the TB cast-offs. Bonus if they've got "chrome". The kill pens of are full of the end result.
End rant.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I have been working with performance horses, not halter horses, for over 20 years. If you want a halter horse you look for good confirmation and something that easily carries extra weight.
If you want a performance horse you look for something with a flaw, pidgeon toed or cow hocked. Those are you real performance horses, especially for working cows or riding reining patterns. You want something that can pivot on a dime and give you 9 cents back. Now I know that most of you are strictly looking at racing prospects and that is fine. But she really isn't that bad of a mare.
I hope that someone whether on here or through any of the other sites that Stormy is posted on takes an interest in her. If I have too I will take her in to keep her from going to aution or a dealer but I really do not want to over tax myself or my facility. Now isn't an issue but winter does come in PA
and usually early!!!!

I wasn't trying to be rude. You asked for a QH oriented opinion.
And unless you're the one down the road from me churning out the crappy appendix foals by the truckload, the rant wasn't directed at you.
She's cute, yes. So hopefully she winds up as a nice little riding mare for someone. But breeding for QH foals? Not that great an idea.
I'm sorry if you felt that was a personal attack somehow.

She is cute, you cant see her move.. so how can you say anything?
She could have wonderful movement.. You don't know anything from one picture!
So go ahead and be rude, because apparently I don't know what I am talking about.
and I was RAISED on a quarter horse .... SO don't tell me i am NOT a Quarter horse person. I have had quarter horses for ... hmmm 25 years? at least...

ooookay. I acknowledged that it was not a good confo pic. I never said you weren't a QH person. You DID ask for an opinion from a QH person. I am involved, and have been involved, with QH and appendix QH for years, in breeding, performance and peripherally in racing. Whatever.
She may be a great mover, which means she will be a great riding horse for someone. The OP mentioned she's been used for jumping and is sound, and nice to be around - those are all great attributes.
I still don't think she'd be a good cross for a QH. And, as I said, that was just my opinion. Never once did I say you didn't know what you were talking about. I said IN MY OPINION. My opinion is only mine, based on what I've seen.
And again, I'm sorry if you thought I was saying you don't know anything about QH. You asked for an opinion and not once did I think it meant you'd never been on a QH. I don't read that far into people's posts.
