She's big and gorgeous and her dam is from a Claiborne family. Only $700

They also have a half brother by Harlan's Holiday to G2 SW Inspiring, named Golden Tablet. He's adorable.

It took a bit of digging - this mare's registered name is Road Track's Vow. It's not a bad family.

Does the adoption contract stipulate no breeding?

Isn't her name Romantic Journey?

No. The last Thoroughbred in the US named Romantic Journey was born in 1974, a filly by Graustark, according to my '07 APR - there could be a new Romantic Journey after '07 but not this mare.

Someone entered her pedigree in the database under Romantic Journey, but that is not her registered name.

The JC lists a 2004 mare named Romantic Journey, by Broken Vow and out of Buy.

Madelyn I think your source is probably out of date. www.equineline.com has Romantic Journey born 2004 dam Buy is by Proper Reality and she is 3x5 to In Reality and she won $22,452. She is the only foal by Broken Vow x Proper Reality mare. 5 cross pedigrees are now free for everybody with nicking and since the Jockey Club owns equineline the info is always up to date.

It looks like the mare was originally named Road Track's Vow but her name was changed to Romantic Journey. That explains the confusion.

She's a lovely mare. Quality enough pedigree. Only $700.

I had to share her with someone!

The adoption process/contract has you on a year "foster home" before you get ownership of the horse and there is no breeding allowed in the first year. For an adoption of $700 she is one of their higher end models. But God love her color and long legs even if she has extra angle at the hocks.

yeah, umm I want to own a horse outright. I'd buy her for $900 cash in hand, but I'm not going to be a "foster home" for a mare I cant breed. Sorry girl, you would have had it sweet here.
