Ok for all you with sound gelding for sale

Postby Skipitgirl » Thu Nov 13, 2008 6:37 am

Looking for a SOUND gelding to retrain for eventing. I will stress, must be sound. Off the track is fine as long as the mind is intact LOL. Will be going down to Florida for a nice life with a young enthusiastic student. Prefer close to Ohio as I will need to look at the horse for the student. I am going to call and make arrangments with Canter to view some. Just wondered if anyone had anything they are getting ready to retire.

Prefer gelding
15.3+
age 4-10

No color preference!

Lets hear about them.

Well once the big guy that I took in heals for skinning his leg in May (that is the only issue and is didn't cause any actual damage just unsightly to look at) he will be sound for anything and he is BIG. He's built more like a QH than a TB. His name is Diamond Miner and he most go to a good (preferably forever) home. I have others and a super awesome hunter jumper mare :D

You might try the Ohio Canter website: http://www.canterusa.org/ohio/trainerlistings.htm

There should be at least a few that are "sound, just slow"

Hope that helps

Not in Ohio, but I saw this guy this morning

http://www.brigadiereventing.com/untitled1.html

He may be 15.3, he may not be. Cute, cute jump and nice mover. He really concentrtated on the jumps in a ring next to a very buzy road.
His sire side has a Cormac/Bonne Nuit cross.

I have a super nice big gorgeous 17 h bay I'm selling for his owner. His asking price is $7500 and his owner is very eager to sell now so it's negotiable. He's in NJ and under my care since July, has had 10 months of retraining since coming off the track. Very solid on the flat, soft mouth and sensitive to the aids, loves to jump and has been tested up to 3 ft without batting an eye. I think he would love to be a eventer, has shown in the beginner hunters and has some basic dressage. Here's a link to his ad and video.

You might check out the ITOBA Paddock Sale, to be held at Hoosier Park tomorrow. There are several geldings entered. Here's the entry list: http://www.itoba.com/08%20Paddock%20Sale%20Entries.htm

Sorry I should have been more specific. The reason she is having me look here is that her price range is $1500. Florida has a ton of nice horses out of her price range. She is hoping to get one for as reasonable as possible so is willing to start from scratch.

In that case I would definitely look on the canter site just click on the trainer listings. There are several geldings on there in her price range and there is no contract for the horses being sold by there trainers.

2007-2 GELDING, 4 years old. 15.3 hands. Bay with lots of chrome and flaxen tail. Conscientious owner says "Whos Your Buddy" has raced just four times but just "doesn't get it" and so wants to find him a job he'll be happier doing. He's easy to handle and ride and has even had some Parelli training. Sound to do it all, no injuries, and no vices. Look at this guy's gorgeous face in his picture! Stabled in Belvidere. Asking $2500. Bonnie 815-979-4277. Listen call her she will take less if he has an awesome home please note his sibling is training for the Olympics!!!!!!!
