Dream Delta bay mare -Seattle Granddaughter-Need to sell Now

Postby whitewolfcatahoulas » Sat Jul 11, 2009 3:48 pm

Due to my husbands death I need to sell her now before I move in the next couple of weeks.
Double Registed with the Jockey Club and Canadian registery.
Dream Delta is Seattle Slew granddaughter. She is a 16 hh, 8 yr old thoroughbred mare by Yoonevano out of Hakas. Delta had a very beautiful Snowbound filly in 2007.

She has had some ground work for riding, has had a saddle and a bridle on, but no one on her back yet. Delta is very layed back and willing to please. She would also make a great broodmareor riding horse. Asking $1,000.00 will also trade for a Travel trailer or 1/2 or 3/4 ton automatic truck, no junkers must run good.

Just mentioning that if I'm reading her pedigree right, her dam is a full sister to the dam of Artie Schiller.

Yeah, Dream Delta's dam Hakas is the full sister to Hidden Light who is the dam to Artie Schiller.
Thank you, KBEquine, I didn't know that.

fascinating pedigree. The sire is an unraced 1/2 brother to Demons Begone, Pine Bluff, and Angel Fever, dam of Fu Peg.

Distaff is immediate family of Artie Schiller and further back, Ferdinand. The 1st dam is full sister to the dam of Artie, but there are about 5 other full sisters that really haven't produced much in the way of black type. (I'm fairly certain if you search the archive another full sis was mentioned a few months back. Her name was Hidden Dark by Ferdinand)

That said, I'd send this mare to a son of Fu Peg for the nice inbreeding to Angel Fever, a talented superior mare in the breeding shed. For Indiana breeders, this mare bred to Killenaule gives you a 3X4 to both Angel Fever and Seattle Slew.

The other way of looking at this pedigree is that she is by an unraced sire out of an unplaced mare whose best progeny made less than $40 K.

This would be a good mare for the breed to race crowd, I think.

Wow, I never thought to look up that much of her pedigree.
I have some good news, my cousin called this afternoon and she just rented a farm with land so now I can keep Delta. My family has been a big help with everything and now I don't have to go through the heart break of losing Delta, she really is a great mare.
Thank you all.

I see from the TB Times that there is a son of Demons Begone and a son of Fu Peg in Washington state. Not sure what your plans are or what these stallions look like, but I do like the idea on paper.

I would like to breed her again, maybe next year. I will definately look at those studs. She did have a BEAUTIFUL Snowbound filly in 2007. And when I bought her at the Emerald sale 4 years ago she was in foal with a granddaughter to Storm Cat. She was a beautiful filly sadly we lost her. That was a very sad day.
