Free Broodmare Prospect- Hard Knocker- Made $325,000

Postby cmccarthy9 » Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:42 am

Queen Hypolita was a hard-knocking mare who ran 68 times- Had 15 wins, 12 seconds and 10 thirds for total earnings of $324,915.

She is a gorgeous mare- stands @ 16 hands and is 9 years old. The owner has decided its time to retire her and feels she will make a great broodmare for someone.

Here is a picture of her last win http://www-equiphoto-com.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Philadelphia-Park-Win-Photos-07-2010/G0000CQaVh5QS21E/I0000F5SlMS8bg30/P0000vb4Ti747GRc

She is sweet with no vices, he just thinks she isnt going to be competitive here at Parx, so someone can be lucky and get her. She is free to a good home. She is located at a farm in Bucks County. Please PM for details!

Here is a link to her and her bloodlines...

On paper, this mare is a GREAT match for the El Prado son Senor Swinger.

El Prado has shown a neat affinity for Dr Fager and his close genetic relatives/descendants. Some of the better horses bred on this cross include Drawing a Blank, Night Dreamer, El Cielo, Andalusian, Quiet Meadow, and of course Rachel Alexandra. I think this mare and her full sister probably have whatever genetic 'pop' Dr Fager provides, since another known hot cross with that bloodline is Mt Livermore, and clearly it worked here.

Another important strain this mare carries is Migoli, a conduit for Bois Roussel who has been SO important for Roberto. She also carries Cosmah through Rexson, and as shown by Street Cry and Proud Citizen, carrying any Almahmoud without Northern Dancer, and then adding Northern Dancer, is hotter than hot.

Oh I wish I could afford to keep her! She should be a really nice broodmare. Whoever does get her, congratulations!

great Florida female family and Lucky Lionel was a speedy turf specialist in Europe at 5 and 5.5 furlongs.

What distances and surfaces did this mare see.

I think she's be a dandy broodie!!

Looks like she ran from 4f to a mile and a 1/16 and won from 4f to 7f. From what I can tell she was tried on the turf once with a second to last finish.

Kimberley, pedigree aside, would you still consider her a good match with a "turfy" sire even though she didn't do well her one try on grass?

Congrats CM - what a family of runners this mare comes from! Wow! Hope to see her carry on the tradition with her foals :)
