Has a nice pedigree, looking at his feet the comment about diligent farrier care is appropriate.
Nice Stallion-

My thoughts, exactly, about the feet too. As long as care is taken not to pull anything (ligaments, etc) in new style work while his feet are getting reshaped.
Are you thinking of getting him, Marli? What do you want to breed for, show or racing? he looks like a nice hunter/eventer sire, or a nice hunter eventer himself.
Edited to add - LOL! He looks just like Blushing Groom!! Take a look at the pic of BG on the pedigree query and go back and forth to a page with fearless on the exforg page. Same coloring, same conformation. Very nice.

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
I *do* like him very much, however, I already have one stallion and I sure as heck don't need another horse (stallion/gelding or mare!)
He caught my eye and I think he has a very nice pedigree.
Excerpt from NY Breeders Assoc., report of NY Preferred Yearlings Sales-
"Among those was the sale topper at $180,000, a colt from the third crop of Canadian Horse of the Year Peaks and Valleys (whose first crop includes Grade II winner Dollar Bill) named Fearless Legacy. Consigned by Pete and Debbie Siegel (Thomas and Nadine Gallo, agent), this colt is the second offspring produced by an Aqueduct-Gulfstream allowance-winning Spectacular Bid mare that is a half-sister to two stakes winners and a stakes producer."
Here's his record - Lifetime starts- 1- 0-0-0 $120
*1* lifetime start? (Belmont Park/turf) He was the sales topper at $180k. One would have to really wonder if those feet alone has kept him from performing

In the "For What It's Worth" category.....after looking at this stallion's feet in the photo.
Don't know if anyone else has had this experience but I've experienced a real unexpected benefit from the use of Strongid C daily wormer in rescue horses with bad feet.....one saddlebred filly in particular who was so starved at the time acquired you could see her heart beat against her ribs and whose feet looked every bit as bad as his do here. The first trimming - as moderate as could be done considering what we had to work with - left her so sore she laid down and refused to get up - for three full days! We called the vet thinking she was giving it up and needed to be humanely put down. After he went out and examined her - as best he could with her curled up no the ground - he declared that she was just sore as heck on all four feet and would get up eventually to eat. Meanwhile we took a oats, good hay and water etc. to her. As the vet said she finally got up and - very gingerly at first - began making her presense known at the round bales about the pasture. Took a good 6 months for that filly to even begin to signifigantly fill out for all the nutrition she was ingesting - she had all the high quality hay she could eat, full measures of crimped oats twice a day with extra measures thrown in if she was really cleaning up her oats and access to a mineral block 24/7 - don't believe in rushing a lot of rich feed to a horse that starved right off the bat, especially one with very bad feet. It took longer for enough of the new growth of her feet to begin making a difference in their appearance....but her hooves were much better for the Strongid. (I attribute this to the Strongid because I saw this in every horse we put on it - the fat and healthy ones and the rescue horses). Takes about 6 months after you begin to see enough of the new improved hoof material to believe it's going to make a difference but it does. The farrier will comment on how much stronger the hoof wall material is. It's no miracle supplement for hooves - it won't "cure" a horse whose foundered or whose feet have contracted badly (as I suspect this stallion's have - in addition to having that long toe/no heel type of trim) and it won't put "Great" feet on a horse pre-disposed to have very poor feet but it will give that horse a better/stronger hoof material than he ever had before. The vet had predicted she'd abcess - probabally in all four feet - but in the end she absessed in only one, almost a full year later after we sold her and it resolved itsself quite quickly. Once she had recovered and really began to fill out we sold her on to a woman who wanted a 'family' horse but it had to be a Saddlebred. This young mare actually experienced kind of a true-life Cinderalla story as she was rescued by myself and a friend at age 3 coming 4, nurtured back to health and sold to local woman, a single mother with three kids, as a full 4YO coming 5. When the mare was 5 her new family ended up moving to the midwest where the woman was married and had another child. She initially boarded the mare at a "local" barn for riding purposes but the mare was a bit green and then the owner became pregnant so then another barn was recommended for the mare to be bred to a Saddlebred stallion and here's where it gets almost spooky: it was the same barn where her sire, Stepping Stuff, had stood. In other words it was the barn where she had been conceived! Apparently her dam had been sold to someone in Texas with her in utero, who subsequently sold her as a very young yearling filly to the guy who just ignored her to the point where I doubt she was much more than a week or two from lying down for good when we purchased her for next to nothing as a bag of bones just to get her out of the bad situation she was in. The owner of the barn and the Saddlebred breeding operation was thrilled to see this lovely product of his breeding program return and traded a well trained gelding for her. To my knowlege he still has her as a broodmare on his farm. So what are the odds of that happening - what goes around truly does come around, doesn't it? What is meant to be and all of that....Good luck to this guy...he's definitely going to need some real attention to those feet in the hands of a knowlegeable and regularly scheduled farrier making lots of regular adjustments to get him anywhere close to correct down the line. The stallion appears well nourished, albeit a bit flacid of flesh, so I think the Strongid might be a worthwhile assist to such a project - pouring him full of nutrition for his feet given their present state may just cause him to have even more serious issues.

Wow Jellac, the mare having gone back to the farm where she was conceived is bizarre!
Glad to hear she's now being taken care of as she should be!
I don't doubt that keeping a horse on Strongid C would provide the extra benefits of having good hoof growth/strength. Keeping any parasite load out of their system so that all the nutritional supply can be utelized as it should (without the drain of parasites) is understandable. And you've seen the proof.
As for this fella, in taking another good look at those feet, they are just in terrible condition. Long toe, no heel, I'm surprised he hasn't bowed. Can it be *that* difficult to find a good farrier at the track, or at the very least, on the farm? Have to wonder too what source of feed he's been getting....
If his feet could get whipped back into shape, judging by his appearance, I think he'd make someone a very nice prospect (the pic makes him appear as though he's standing 'downhill').

What a wonderful story about your saddlebred! What's in the strongid C besides wormer that helps the hooves? I have both my TB's on a biotin supplement: My 1st OTTB has been on it for about 1.5 yrs. It took about 8 mths and my farrier (whose been doing his feet for the 3.5 yrs we've had him) says his feet have never looked better; they don't chip and he isn't dropping shoes everywhere anymore, so I put my 2nd OTTB on it about 2mths ago. We got him in March and his feet looked alot like Fearless Legacy's. Had his shoes pulled (arrived still wearing racing shoes) and have left him barefoot for now while he's on free time (learning to be a herd animal). He's had several trims since then and another one coming up at the end of this month. Hoping to see an improvement soon- the angle of the foot is getting better but always like to hear about things that improve hoof quality.

Just remember that some horse's feet are just bad. No matter what kind of nutrition/trimming, etc. Sometimes they just are that way.
I had a mare that was like that. No matter what we did, she had bad feet. We raced her on them, and she did ok. But it nothing to do with anything other than she was that way.

Racing and retraining.
