I did over react, but I feel that even if I have the best horse in the world, I still don't have the right to put down on another persons stock.

I have to admit that I am usually the one to mention poorly composed pictures. So I guess I would ask, are you more offended by the tone used by the one poster, or the message. You did ask, and while some of the folks were fairly pointed, I don't think anyone was too abrupt. True Colors had a tactful reply. However, I don't think that anyone was rude.

I myself told another board member just the other day that the picture she was using would not help in selling her horse as it didn't properly show off the conformation. She reacted very well, probably knowing that my intention was honesty and not meanness.

While posting, it's probably best to thicken ones skin and try to not be too sensitive.

Most TB breeders I know don't have broodmares pampered in stalls and they don't look like show horses so I guess I didn't think about the fact that most people on that thread want pretty photos.

This mare does not live here, she resides in another state for breeders incentives so I can't go and out, stand her up and put more photos...Those were some old photos I had saved from 2008.

I spend most my time reading the Bloodhorse, sale results, and TB pedigrees....I am not educated on WB stallions so I was reading old threads trying to gather information about other peoples mares and foals.

I kept noticing that some experienced people would almost "attack" some new members who perhaps were less educated, Spacely being one of them who kept slamming people for no real reason other than they seemed to lack knowledge...This was an opportunity to build others up and when people become educated, the horse industry benefits.

Later I posted hoping to find information about WB stallions, and she replied in the same unnecessary manner and I let it catch me off guard.

I can't understand why some put people down when positive criticism leads to education...I didn't find anyone else to be rude.

They were not asking for pretty photos. They were asking for a good conformation shot. The horse does not need to be a pampered show horse living in a stall. Most horse people can look past the dirt and shaggy coat.

Maybe when she foals and I go see the new baby, I can get something better.

Lack of knowledge on that forum is a recipe for disaster. There are TOO many kids on there who just drink the kool aid no matter what flavor and go down kicking and screaming when they have to change.

Just read the forum thread that you linked to and do believe that you received very knowledgeable opinions about aspects of your mare's conformation they would seek to improve in any mating. I also believe that you can only base these opinions on the photo and given she is not standing squarely there could be many "optical" illusions going on.

All that being said, the photos of her filly that you posted show a very attractive looking horse. (to my eye) If you have had several foals from her, then I am sure you know what aspects of herself she tends to pass along.

Both stallions are nice looking but I will state that I don't know much about warmblood studs...TB girl myself
