A TB who looks sort of appaloosa: PELOUSES QUEEN (1965)
Oh my goodness, I think some of our coat color enthusiasts may want to be acknowledged about this case.
If one clicks to the following site:
http://appaloosa-crossing.com/Traits.htm
and scrolls down to the last big photo, there is a solid colored appaloosa (non TB) with white spots, who is a near duplicate to this other equine who IS a Thoroughbred:

Thanks for your comments

Yes snowflakes and birdcatcher spots are similar but since snowflakes are part of the Lp gene(s) they are not related to what Pelouse had. She had an overabundance of birdcatcher spots but was unusual in how many there were and how constant her pattern stayed. There have been a few like her but most are smaller spots and less stable over time. She was pretty cool though.

Studying this pedigree is a very important and auspicious analytical exercise and may help us pinpoint relevant ancestor onto new avenues of search. A very good example on studying these pedigrees has been brought to us in another thread about Old Teppee and Tri Chrome. Albeit we are dealing here with a non-Thoroughbred vis-a-vis a Thoroughbred, the pedigrees of both are important cues.

Don't know who owned her as a racehorse but she was purchased by money Creek ranches and used to breed appaloosas (hey, we didn't know about Lp and birdcatcher spots and sabino ness then!
) and was sold in their dispersal sale in ummmm, 1983 or 1985? somerwhere around there. I assume that they took the photo as it appeared in their advertising and catalog. I don't know who bought her at the sale though.

Can't tell where the pic. was taken but this is what it says in the catalog. Dark bay, white spots over entire body, JC#658828, foaled 3/23/65
This mare is a winner of 3 races ($7,119) and is the dam to a winner (doesn't say who). Her sire Pelouse is an outstanding proven sire in the Rocky Mt area. He's a winner of over $42,000 and a sire to many stakes winners. Harem Queen (dam) is a winner and producer of three winners. *Gung Ho (2nd dam) is the dam to 10 foals, 7 winners. 16 hands, sold in foal to Money Creek's rockledge. Sale was Aug 29, 1981.
I'll see if anyone has any info. on her TB foal(s)

Only one case responds to the name BIMI, and it’s a chestnut filly foaled in New Zealand in 1974, by Copenhagen out of Gold Mist. http://www.pedigreequery.com/bimi
Not probable!
But there is a colt by the name BIMINI (Seeking the Gold) http://www.pedigreequery.com/bimini6 . Who knows?
Let's see if other members can assist on this interesting case.
