Herman K. Goodpaster (91) passed away

Postby Jorge » Mon Feb 09, 2009 7:55 pm

Herman K. Goodpaster passed away this past Saturday February 7, 2009 at the age of 91. He is remembered for many achievements but mainly for the white filly, White Beauty, remote ancestress of THE WHITE FOX and three other white foals of today.

But I want to outstand the fact that when White Beauty was foaled in 1963, his sire Ky Colonel also sired another white foal that year, this one, a colt by the name War Colors. Although War Colors was officially registered as a "roan", he was certainly a white Thoroughbred. Thanks to Mr. Goodpaster good efforts and courage the white phenotype in Thoroughbreds began being recognised in official circles. We feel grateful for his legacy as an owner, trainer, breeder and horseman.

May he rest in peace.

KIAWAH CAT http://www.pedigreequery.com/kiawah+cat

This 2010 Tremont Stakes hopeful is related to Herman K. Goodpaster, who raised and raced Ky Colonel and his good legacy of white Thoroughbreds, like White Beauty, ancestress of THE WHITE FOX and other well bred Thoroughbreds.
