Spinoff: Palomino filly Splash of Vanilla in race training

Postby KBEquine » Tue May 26, 2009 12:46 pm

Since this is no longer about a palomino filly going through an auction, I thought it deserved its own thread here in The Color Corner --

I just saw in the below thread on another forum where the palomino filly is at the track & in race training. Seems she's in Kentucky with Bernie Flint. While I don't know him except by name/reputation, I DO know he was the trainer of the stakes horse Calvin Borel was riding for his 4500th victory & he's had some good horses, so it seems she'll be given a real chance to see if she's got what it takes.

Saw that, thought of TrueColours & had to post!

The dam of this mare, Maid of Gold, is now at my farm. She is the most gorgeous mare, the pictures I recieved of her did not do her justice. If this filly is anything like her dam then she must be stunning.

Derby Lyn - I had no idea that you got her! If you are able to, I'd love to see new "better" pictures of her ... :)

Good luck with her!

I will have to get some new pictures to put on my website anyways. She has that pretty GG head, and is put together really nicely. I was worried about her height and confo from the pics, but she is taller and nicer then I expected.

Splash of Vanilla had the fastest 3 furlong work this morning at Churchill! She beat 20 other horses with her 35.6 time. :D

Per the caption, the picture isn't of Splash of Vanilla, but of Goldhaven, a palomino filly training in SC.

Splash of Vanilla was consigned by Nick De Meric, who trains in FL, so I'm pretty sure that filly is a different palomino TB in training . . .

Or am I reading it wrong?

The photo is Splash of Vanilla. The photographer mentioned seeing Goldhaven in Aiken; this photo was taken at Churchill.
