Postby angrovestud » Sat Jul 04, 2009 7:38 am

We are so thrilled last week our trainer came to visit our yearling colt Angrove Rum BaBa and said he was grown enough and mature to go racing in 2010 probably later in the summer on the flat.the first coloured colt in the UK!
Pics are at 11 months old
he is out of Bond Angel Eyes

Thanks for future updates. Have a question: Have Angrovestud ever considered inserting the champagne coat color into your racing/hurdling breeding program? Your interesting breeding efforts makes me remember what Madame Elisabeth Couturie (1904-1982) tried to achieved in France with the white, Mont Blanc II as narrated in Chapter 3 of the book "Makers of the Modern Thoroughbred" by author Peter Willett.

Hey good luck! Hopefully his color will stun the other starters!

Thanks Jorge and madelyn
I will try to find a copy of the book, i would be very interested in reading as much as I can.
I had not considered Champagne but its likely to be dilutes first but I think I have a TB mare that possibly carry Champagne shes very pinky skin around her udder and under her tail and she is a chestnut very splashy she looks like a welsh X Arab pony as shes only 14.3hh she is a great grandaughter of Kris.also has Reliance but I guess it would hide that well.
I think our mare who is the dam of the future runner is the 3/4 sister to ART CONNOISSEUR who is by lucky story.
