Flashy chestnut - with spots?

Ok, I am not a color person, but I recognize some names in this pedigree. Her sire, Spot (who comes up with these names?) is by a horse named Nite Spot, who is a full brother to Patchy Lass. I know that she was the dam of several very colorful foals.

That said, this filly is a pretty chestnut, 15.3, and on the pedigree lookup I can see a spot on her belly.

Her sire "Spot" is a minimal frame overo who is by "Nite Spot" a louder frame overo, who was sold to Gwen and then passed away not to long ago.

If she has that belly spot you are talking about, its very likely that she is frame overo, just minimal.

If she is coming from Nite Spot, lets put it this way, she is way "conservatively" marked!

So was "Spot" Jorge ... His white spot (giving him APHA registration) was on his genital area and that was it ... He is VERY minimally marked but he does seem to pass on a lot of colour to his foals! :)

Hey - is that genital spot enough to make a horse a pinto? I've got a chestnut Arab gelding who has a good size pink spot on his nether region.

I think the pinto rules are different from the APHA ones, but not 100% certain on that. I THINK they need more for the Pinto registration but dont quote me on that one ...
