Roan STB & Sabino TB

Postby NiteOwl666 » Tue Sep 15, 2009 9:53 pm

Thought I'd post this video of D B Broady, a 10y/o roan gelding, winning the 3rd at Batavia Downs tonight

http://66.209.93.91/racereplays/search. ... 446dc0b6ea
(click the link for the 15th, Race #3 - he's the 5)

I saw him jogging one morning a few days ago - and I thought he might be roan not grey, but I only got a few glimpses of him so I was wondering about it all week lol

Also, for anyone that might be at Belmont today, keep an eye out for a horse named Tinto in the 6th - a very flashy sabino (I think it's sabino - not to good w/ my patterns lol) - but he is very flashy. He was broke @ Morrisville while I was there - unfortunately he left before I had the chance to get a nice photo :(

It's hard to see in the video - but in person he has a darker face compared to his body - reddish in color - as I said though I only saw him as he was going by that morning before the race tonight (which I saw in person as well) - he is also registered as a roan not a grey or grey/roan

Not sure how far you watched - but in the video, 2:26-2:45 shows him jogging - still not the best thing in the world

He looks like he might be a roan with the darker head.

I think he's quite dark for a 10-year-old "gray".

His head definitely looks darker than the rest of him.

He's a bay/brown roan. Roans are not common in standardbreds but not quite rare either.

Jorge, I've just added him to the All Breed Pedigree database. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/d+b+broady

Both he and his sire, Broadway Express are registered as roan.

Aethervox,

Thank you so much for the addition. Oh, no surprise here, we are dealing with a bona fide roan pedigree.
All the Best,
