Okay so I can NOT believe I missed this until now. We had a white colt born this year by Sato out of Adorable. I *think* he is a chestnut base but he has not been tested. I have someone that has asked for new photos of him. So we bring him into the wash stall for some scrubadubdub. Get him all gleaming clean and what do I see... A dark blue eye!!! It is his right eye. The other has a sort of tinge of blue but the right is BLUE for sure. Not the pale blue of a cremello but still blue. So where the heck does this come from??? Splash, DW, Sabino or ??? He is 5 months old now so it doubt it is going to darken. Here is a link to his page though the new photos are not posted yet. http://www.blazingcoloursfarm.com/adorable2009colt.html

That is outstanding! I can't wait to see the pix. Dark blue, that would be very unique. My colt has two blue, ice blue. Real light. Same as his dam.

Congrats on the pretty boy!

I think that blue eyes come from the splash gene. Sato looks like he might carry that with that "bald" face of his.
